PORT KENT, NEW YORK on beautiful LAKE CHAMPLAIN
OK, so you may know this, you may not, but DAMAGED GOODS has worked since March, 2019, to get you some new music from the boys and we have some wonderful surprises coming up on this new album, NEW STRETCH OF ROAD. Besides the awesome title track, we have some more songs from RANDY VAUGHN, KEITH KING, and yours truly, and a lot more collaboration to bring some eclectic music. KEITH KING & I teamed up for THE BALLAD OF NIGEL & SHEILA, a song in which the first section of the lyrics was written by committee, originally, added to until there was a story fashioned by KEITH KING. And then I created the music per KEITH's request and it was magic! RANDY VAUGHN & I did the same thing with NEW STRETCH OF ROAD: At first, RANDY just came up with the title and I started working on music to go with it. RANDY and our friend MARY LOU collaborated on some cool lyrics and the song just rocks! And we have DAMAGED RANDY & CHERYL's song, CRACKLES, FIRE & ICE, a song about a Kansas tornado! SKIP BROWN figures in on a couple of the songs: RASTA MAN, (with KEITH KING), and my personal favorite, THAT"S LIFE & THIS IS LIVIN' two songs that keep us doing that reggae, man! My contribution to this effort is MASKS OF ETERNITY ( for JOSEPH CAMPBELL), FOLLOW THE SONG, and LET THE MUSIC HEAL YOUR SOUL, written for CATHERINE WHEELER after the loss of her son, JASON. CATHERINE is KEITH's significant other and we mourn the loss of JASON every day. The song is a marvelous burst of healing energy, you are going to love it! And, I promised you a surprise, or two, but my BIG SURPRISE for you is that our resident violinist, fiddler, singer, NELSON ROCK, has contributed a song he wrote called THE STATE OF ROCK 'N' ROLL. All that I will tell you is, it's like PUNK meets ELVIS. We like to joke that it's a lovely rant form ol' NELLIE! That's all I am going to reveal, for now. But, I promise to keep you up-to-date on our progress. Into the studio (BluVudu Productions) this week we go! So, everyone enjoy the Holidays, relax and let your mind float downstream . . . THE REVELATOR P.S. Go to the HOME page and sing along with DAMAGED GOODS and their Christmas Carol.

DAMAGED GOODS has got some BIG MUSIC coming your way soon! The GOODS enter the studio March 1st, 2019, and we are stoked! KEITH, DAVID, RANDY, and the rest have all been busy crafting some wonderful songs for our second album.
Here are some proposed titles, just to wet your appetite:
ALSO, AND NOT TO FORGET, we have a new member of the band that we will be introducing you to over the next several weeks. Stay tuned! THE REVELATOR Port Kent, New York THE REVELATOR here with some breaking news! DAMAGED GOODS is excited to announce the release of their first single from the new album Revolution Gun, which will be a song by our wonderful and illustrious front man, KEITH KING, called Fathers Day.
PORT KENT, NEW YORK THE REVELATOR here. There are few things more exciting than music for me, so I am supremely biased when I say that I feel good about last night's performance by DAMAGED GOODS at the AMOS & JULIA WARD THEATRE in JAY, NEW YORK; it was spectacular! As you can see by this wonderful photo to the left (courtesy of Susan Darkside), I was in fine form and loving every minute it of it. The GOODS played a two-hour set, no breaks! That has to be an historic first for us, to be sure. DAMAGED GOODS is in the final stages of recording and will soon embark on the grueling mixing phase of this project, which title has changed to REVOLUTION GUN. I am very proud of all these songs and I am stoked for you all to hear them. JOHN BRADLEY of BluVudu Productions has been slugging it out and has done some mighty fine work, to be sure. Fine performances have been turned in by everyone. NELSON ROCK has especially flavored our songs with wonderful strokes of color and nuance. We hare happy and proud of NELSON and the labor of love he has contributed to this project. All the rest of the GOODS have contributed multiple vocals, percussions, and other accessory instrumentation to make this a finely orchestrated body of work. We feel it is our duty. This summer is shaping up to be one of the finest for DAMAGED GOODS. Be sure to get in your reservation to have DAMAGED GOODS play your event, because the dates are filling in fast. Oh, and be sure to check out our DAMAGE REPORT for a sneak peek at the liner notes for the album, written by our own "Spot Check" Billy Wells. Click the above link to read it in its entire blubbering splendor! Yours musically, THE REVELATOR FRIDAY, JANUARY 26, 2018 PORT KENT, NEW YORK Greetings from THE REVELATOR! The GOODS have been busy as beavers working in the studio to bring their stage magic into the recording world. And the results are stupendous! JOHN BRADLEY of BLUVUDU PRODUCTIONS has continued to astound us with his abilities and skills as an engineer and producer. We have enjoyed working with him and we look forward to working with him some more this year. Life has had its ups and downs for everyone in DAMAGED GOODS but, mostly, things are looking up. Mighty things are in store for DAMAGED GOODS and our fans this year and just thinking about it gets me all excited. NELSON ROCK laid down fiddle for my song, GIRLFRIEND, which was always supposed to have a fiddle in it. And it sounds great. RANDY VAUGHN's song ROLL A STONE was also orchestrated by NELSON. He also put parts down for (I'VE BEEN) BLOWN AWAY and a few others. KEITH KING is a master class harp player. He can wail the blues with the best of them and can make his harp sound like a squeezebox or keyboard or, you -name-it. Mad skills. THE REVELATOR likes ridin' with the KING! The next couple of weeks should see DAMAGED GOODS putting the final brush strokes on our first masterpiece. Keep posted for more news of our work in the studio. Yours in song, THE REVELATOR PORT KENT, NEW YORK One week ago today, I woke up with a nasty sore throat. The rest of the week proved to be even worse. Today, I feel much better but the rest of DAMAGED GOODS have been experiencing the ravishes of airborne viruses as well. Be well, my friends. We have work to do!! The wonderful Christmas Song still ringing in my head, I am so proud of the work that DAMAGED GOODS have done so far: laid basic tracks for eighteen songs, several of them new, some very sensational vocal parts, some fattening of rhythm tracks, etc. "Some mighty fine work by some mighty fine musicians," as FZ used to say. Oh, yes! DAMAGED GOODS will be performing New Years Eve at Dana's Rusty Anchor, Plattsburgh, New York, and I suggest you get in touch with Dana, soon, for your table! DAMAGED GOODS then will be hunkering down at BluVudu Productions until our beards grow or an album is finished. Or both. Or neither. See how indifferent this virus makes you feel? I'll snap out of it . . . Happy Holidays to everyone and see you next year! THE REVELATOR Monday, November 20, 2017 + PORT KENT, NEW YORK Other than playing live for our fans, working in the studio with DAMAGED GOODS is about as fun as it gets, and the fun is nonstop. Creating this music involves us all, including the guy in the control room, our much esteemed JOHN BRADLEY, of BLUVUDU PRODUCTIONS. His knack for fostering the creative spirit knows no bounds and we love him. DAMAGED GOODS worked on a new song I wrote, Crashing, which is turning into something exciting. I can't wait for all of you to hear all the new songs. We are more than thrilled with what we have accomplished so far. And, I must tell you, the creativity has spawned many new songs, to the point that, a second album of material is already in the works! Things will stall for awhile as the holidays approach, but we will stay as busy as we can in the studio slaving over this mighty fine music because, after all, we are slaves to the music. I would like to personally wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! I'll be back, later . . . |
